As the ABWA District Conferences come to an end, I commend you all for your participation and contributions in making each conference its own unique success. I have met many ABWA members I can now add to those I already called friends. And I have gained knowledge that will contribute to the growth of our District as well as the effectiveness of my team at The Hertz Corporation.
Our National staff worked tirelessly to ensure that the conferences brought us phenomenal keynote speakers and seminars that would build stronger leaders, both in our association and in our workplaces. I commend them for a job well done!
And I applaud all of you, who took time from your busy, busy schedules to attend and invest in your futures. If you were not able to experience a District Conference first hand, please visit with your fellow members that were in attendance. Share their excitement and ask them to bring you up-to-date. And plan to participate in other opportunities in our District.
I was especially excited to see the number of “First Timers” at all the conferences. Every one of them I spoke to were enthused about the future of ABWA, and intend to assist their groups in reaching “Best Practices” status. Embrace these members at your meetings and keep them fired-up, by keeping them involved and motivated.
Now is the perfect time to start planning your trip to Covington, KY Oct 2-4, 2008. Covington, KY – on the southern side of Cincinnati – is the site for this year’s ABWA National Women’s Leadership Conference. Phenomenal speakers and presenters are already engaged, to bring you excitement like you have never seen! You will not want to miss this conference.
This is my favorite time of the ABWA year. We are honoring our chapter Women of the Year, submitting candidates for Top Ten and voting for our officers who will guide our groups next year. As we do all this, we are reflecting on our progress and what can be done to qualify for ABWA’s chapter and Express Network awards.
I want to be in the front row, cheering your chapter or Express Network as you accept your Best Practice award on stage. Is your group on track? Is there anything I can do to assist you in this challenge? Please feel free to contact me, and share your challenges and successes.
I look forward to seeing you in my travels throughout the District and in Covington, KY!
In ABWA Friendship,
